A number of years ago the Vicar of Prestatyn, the Rev D Quentin Bellamy, came to the Wyvern showroom in search of a practice organ for his home. After spending a day with us he became the proud owner of a Wyvern Koralia organ, which brought him tremendous enjoyment, and the means to practice undisturbed!  After some time, he decided to upgrade to a Toccata III and again he was a very satisfied customer, spending as much of his spare time as possible making music in his study!

When surfing the net one day, he landed on our website and noticed an old Wyvern DS80 drawstop organ, which was offered for sale with the recommendation that it be rebuilt with the latest WpX technology. He came all the way over from North Wales to see the instrument and there and then placed the order.  New keyboards, a new capture system, one or two stop changes, and state of the art digital electronics were installed and in due course Quentin was summoned to Bideford to spend a couple of days with our Voicer.  Just two days before Christmas 2008 the organ was installed in his study in place of the Toccata III, and his joy is complete!

The organ has 53 speaking stops over three manuals and pedals. It is of course capable of playing the full range of repertoire and for a home installation it is a dream organ.

Now that we have installed a new Wyvern Digital organ in Prestatyn Parish Church, where Quentin is Vicar, he says that he “…can enjoy the best of both worlds; the magnificent sound of the church’s organ and the more intimate sound of my own studio organ (which is itself not for the faint-hearted!)”.
