For many years the Wyvern Sonata has been a firm favourite and a popular choice for small to medium size churches and with home organists.
This latest Sonata builds upon this tradition but takes the tonal quality of this popular organ to new height. It now has a specification of 32 speaking stops voiced firmly in the English tradition and has a full reed chorus on the Swell. Yet this new organ also includes three other alternative specifications: a sparkling Baroque organ; a Romantic French organ and a classical Dutch Classical organ each with totally separate sample sets. The organ can also be switched to Hauptwerk mode so that it can be used as a midi console.
The emphasis is on tonal quality with each rank, including the individual mixture ranks, being generated separately. The audio system is also impressive; even in standard internal configuration the organ has 14 speakers over six audio channels that enable the ranks to be divided. A "split-semitone" system is also used to give movement to the sound – just one of many inbuilt features that help produce the character of a pipe organ! An optional sub bass output is available and a range of compact bass cubes to further enhance the pedal division.
The Sonata, with it's additional upper work is particularly suitable for the accompaniment of congregational singing and it now has more 'weight' in the Pedal plus a soft 32' and a 16' reed on the Swell. There is also a set of general pistons in addition to the individual departmental pistons. Toe pistons can be added at additional cost.
The rugged oak console, oak slat roll top and detailed cabinet work gives the organ an air of quality. The expression pedal has an oak shoe.
This hugely popular organ is also available as the Sonata 32 a deluxe version with a wider console and a 32 note RCO pedalboard, adjustable music desk, a church version with six external speakers or as a dual purpose organ with a theatre specification complete with traps in lieu of the Dutch organ.
